Ralph L. “Sonny” Wartsbaugh 82 Oblong died Thursday October 26, 2000 at 2:20 p.m. in

Ridgeview Care Center Oblong, IL. Ralph was born September 1, 1918 in

Pocahontas, Arkansas. He was the son of Clint & Mary (Witsman) Wartsbaugh.

On March 3, 1943 he married Ella Hoover who survives. Ralph was a life long farmer.

During WWII he served in the 95th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army.

He was affiliated with the Methodist Church. He was a member of the

Bend Community School Board for several years as well as a member of the

ASCS Board. Ralph is survived by his wife Ella; Son and Daughter-In-Law Darrell & Cheryl

Wartsbaugh; Daughter and Son-In-Law Donna & Nick Wilson; 6

Grandchildren Tom Wartsbaugh, Clint & Kara Wartsbaugh, Caleb Wartsbaugh,

Nathan Wilson, Nichole Wilson and Nile Wilson;

5 Great Grandchildren Jacob Wartsbaugh, Justin Wartsbaugh, Audrey Wartsbaugh,

Garrett Wartsbaugh and Allyssa Schull; 4 Sisters-In-Laws Viola Wartsbaugh,

Florence Graham, Edith Rice & Naomi Cappell; 1 Brother-In-Law Curtis Hoover;

Several Nieces & Nephews also survive. Ralph is preceded in death by his Parents

and 3 Brothers Lloyd, Elmer and an infant brother. Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery

with full military rites conducted by Oblong American Legion Post #219.
